International Top-Up Promotions: Offers Active This Month

Operators in Cuba, Haiti, Honduras and El Salvador launch top-up promotions almost every month: extra credit, data bonuses or unlimited internet for a few days. On this page we explain how they work and show you, country by country, the promotions that are active right now on TuRecargas.

Why are there top-up promotions every month?

Promotions are launched by the operator in the destination country (Cubacel, Digicel, Natcom, Tigo…), not by the shop where you buy the top-up. Operators use them to get more lines topped up on specific dates: weekends, public holidays, the start of the month or special campaigns such as Christmas or Mother's Day.

That means the same top-up can give your relative quite a lot more credit or data depending on the day you send it. That is why it pays to check what is active before you top up.

What promotions usually include

  • Extra or multiplied credit: the recipient gets double, triple or more the amount topped up (2X, 3X or 5X bonuses).
  • Data bonuses: extra gigabytes or unlimited internet for a few days.
  • Minutes and texts: calls and messages included, national or international.
  • Minimum amount: almost all of them require a top-up above a set amount to unlock the bonus.

Promotions by country

Under each country you will see the promotions that are active right now. They update on their own: when the operator launches or ends an offer, it changes here too.

Cuba: Cubacel promotions

Cubacel (ETECSA) is the operator that runs the most promotions: almost every month there is a campaign for top-ups sent from abroad. They usually combine main credit with data or unlimited internet for a few days, and set a minimum amount to receive the bonus.

Bear in mind that many Cubacel promotions are not delivered instantly: the credit and the bonus arrive when ETECSA processes them. We explain this in detail in our Cubacel promotions guide.

Haiti: Digicel and Natcom promotions

Haiti has two operators, Digicel and Natcom, and both run offers frequently. Digicel usually gives bonuses on top-ups above a minimum amount for periods of several weeks, and Natcom offers bundles with credit and data for fixed top-up amounts.

Before topping up, check with your relative which operator they use: the promotion only applies to that operator's lines.

Honduras: Tigo promotions

Tigo Honduras often launches bonuses that multiply the top-up (3X or 5X) on specific days of the week, as well as bundles with data and minutes. Conditions change with each campaign, so check the minimum amount and the validity date.

If your relative uses Claro, you can also top them up on TuRecargas; whenever Claro has an active promotion it will show up here.

El Salvador: Tigo, Claro, Movistar and Digicel promotions

In El Salvador you can top up Tigo, Claro, Movistar and Digicel lines. Their promotions are less frequent than in Cuba or Honduras, but when there is one it is usually a credit or data bonus for top-ups above a minimum amount.

If you don't see any right now, you can still top up at the normal rate: the top-up arrives in seconds.

Tips to make the most of promotions

  • Check the validity date: many offers only last a weekend or a few specific days.
  • Top up the minimum amount or more: if you go below it, the top-up still arrives but without the bonus.
  • Confirm the recipient's operator: each promotion belongs to a specific operator.
  • Let your relative know: some data bonuses expire within a few days, so they should know they have them.

Frequently asked questions

How often are there top-up promotions?

It depends on the operator. Cubacel launches promotions almost every month; Digicel, Natcom and Tigo run offers frequently, sometimes only for weekends or specific days. This page always shows the ones that are active.

Do I need to do anything to get the bonus?

No. If the top-up meets the promotion's conditions (operator, minimum amount and dates), the operator applies the bonus automatically to the line receiving the top-up.

Is the promotion offered by TuRecargas or by the operator?

It is offered by the operator in the destination country. TuRecargas shows you the current promotions and sends the top-up so your relative receives the bonus.

What happens if I top up when there is no promotion?

The top-up arrives as normal, with the standard credit and no extra bonus. If you are not in a hurry, it may be worth waiting for the next promotion.
